Environmental protection
melvo has been certified in accordance with ECOfit standards. melvo GmbH's internal approach towards environmental protection was analysed during the "ECOfit" certification process. This approach focuses on reducing energy and water consumption and reducing the use of resources as well as on cutting the amounts of waste and waste water that the company generates. Certification by an independent commission demonstrated that melvo GmbH is continuously striving towards improving its working methods and to putting natural resources to effective use.
The folding boxes used for packaging are made entirely from 100% recycled paper. For many years, it has gone without saying that no PVC packaging
or seals containing phthalates are used and that the company employs propane and butane, which do not affect the ozone layer, as a substitute for CFCs.
We are also aware that water is a valuable resource and to enable us to use it on a sustainable basis we have installed a water treatment plant for filtering waste water. It is in this way that we ensure that no toxic materials can escape into the water system.
As an international company, we are aware of our responsibility towards society and future generations. It is our aim to develop environmentally-compatible products and packaging and to reduce the impact of our internal business activities on the environment as far as possible while employing resources in the most sustainable way.
